Severe Weather Emergency plan
As we all know, summers can sometimes be hot and rainy. We have taken
several steps to make sure campers are safe and having fun even when we have
inclement weather. All of our outdoor camps have covered pavilions where we
have lunch or wait for a passing shower. If the rain sustains for a long period of
time, we keep campers busy with indoor activities such as indoor sports, arts and
crafts, board games and reviewing sports skills.
We have a severe weather emergency plan at every outdoor camp in which we
would relocate campers to a nearby school or building. These steps are
coordinated beforehand and if you want to know the locations of our severe
weather emergency plan, please ask the camp director. Because of the warm
weather, we schedule many water breaks throughout the day. We even schedule
some drills and activities in the shade.
There will be a phone on site at all times.
